• Candidate must have passion towards Midwifery. clinical/hands-on experience in conducting deliveries and willingness to continue the clinical practice and conduct deliveries.
• Candidates with teaching experience in Obstetrics and gynaecological nursing.
Paediatrics nursing and community health nursing will be given preference. Research experience is an added advantage.

Select:n Terms:
• The candidates shall be selected as per the criteria laid down by the Government of
India.
• Only in-services staff nurses of DHS/DRME/NHM Punjab and Community Health Officers (CHOs) under NHM Punjab as per the eligibility criteria can apply. No private candidates/staff nurses are eligible to apply.
• This application is to be considered for entry into 18-months Nurse
• Practitioner in Midwifery Educator (NPME) course that is being run by the
National Health Mission, Punjab.
• The selected candidates would undergo first six months of intensive residential training at National Midwifery Training Institute (NMTI) Pa ti ala followed by one year of clinical training and onsite mentorship at identified State Midwifery Training Institutes (SMTl)/hospitals with Midwifery led model of care in Punjab to ensure proficiency as Midwifery Educators. (6 months at NMTI Patiala + 12 months of onsite clinical mentorship and training at any SMTls/MLCUs in Punjab)
• Three State Midwifery Training institutes (Jalandhar. Gurdaspur. Ropar) are tentatively identified in Punjab, and candidates after the completion of the first six months of training can be posted at any of these sites to run the Nurse Practitioner in Midwifery (NPM) course and make functional the Midwifery Led Care Units MLCU) in Punjab.
• Candidates from district Patiala, Ropar, Gurdaspur and Jalandhar will be given preference.
Monthly Remuneration:
• Remuneration for selected in-service candidates (whether DI-IS cadre staff nurses, ORME cadre staff nurses or NHM cadre staff nurses or Community Health Officers contracted under NHM Punjab) will be from their parent department i.e. either DHS/DRME/NHM Punjab, as per the case and hence. the selected candidates would continue receiving their salaries and there will be no break in their career/service.
• Tuition fees and boarding & lodging during the first six months' of residential training at NMTI Patiala for the selected candidates would be borne by NHM Punjab for all selected candidates.
• An additional allowance of Rs. 15,000/month during the entire duration of the course (18 months) will be given to all candidates who join the course.
Other Requirements:
• Only female candidates can apply.
• Age limit 45 years or younger at the time of application.
• Must be a registered R.N.R.M. with Punjab Nurses Registration Council and should furnish an active registration certificate.
• Clinical/hands-on experience in conducting deliveries.
• Proficiency in basic computer usage-MS Office, use of Internet etc.
Other Terms and Conditions:
• Candidates must be Indian National.
• The candidates shall be selected as per the criteria laid down by the Government of
India.
• SERVICE BOND:
o Selected candidates are expected to submit 5 years of written undertaking to work as midwifery educators after completion of their training. An affidavit has to be borne at the time of final selection for serving in the midwifery cadre.
o They are expected to continue clinical practice and conduct deliveries at any
government facility in the state after completion of the training program.
• Willingness to shift to Patiala. Punjab during the training period and to the training facilities after completing their training whichever is identified in Punjab.
• Appointment of candidates will be subject to entry into a written undertaking to be stationed in the identified facilities.
• Applications containing wrong claims relating to basic qualification/eligibility wise/
age/ educational qualification and other basic eligibility criteria will be liable for rejection.
• NI TM Punjab will not be responsible for any consequences arising out offurnishing of incorrect and incomplete details in the application or omission to provide the required details in the application form.
• All essential documents will be verified as per NHM norms during the time of counselling.
Note:
• Numbers of posts likely to vary and may increase or decrease. Mission Director NHM reserves the right to cancel the entire process at any stage without issuing any notice or may cancel screening process due to administrative reasons.
• The date. time and venue of the written test shall be communicated to all candidates
through website.
• Postings under the State Health Department/Department of Medical Education and Research, Punjab/State Health Society are transferable. The State Health Department/State Health Society reserves the right to post candidate at any of its SMT!s within the State. if needed.
• The offer of selection is liable to be withdrawn at any point before joining and if joined. I iable for termination without notice, if competent authority comes across any evidence/knowledge that the qualification, and/or any other particulars indicated by the candidate m his/her application/personal resume/other forms/formats submitted to the competent authority are not recognized/false/misleading and/or amounts to suppression of information particulars/facts. which should have been brought to the notice of competent authority.
